About FCN

Welcome Message from the Board Chair of the Federation of County Networks

You have reached a singular website of a unique coalition.

The Federation of County Networks, Inc. is the visionary creation by five of its front-line practitioners in the field of maternal and infant child care, with particular emphasis on the reduction of infant mortality.  It permitted the positive partnering of perinatal network agencies in metropolitan New York and Long Island along common concerns, while preserving the capacity of each to serve the diverse and distinctive needs of their respective county communities.

During its six years of existence, the FCN has prospered internally and externally. Within its ranks, internally, it has identified leadership skills and resources for advocacy, training, education, development, and research to be utilized in strengthening of services to the varied constituencies.

Concurrently, FCN has been recognized externally by state and municipal governments, as well as by member agencies of the networks as a developing entity providing coordination and advocacy. It has also engaged in the state-wide voluntary association of perinatal networks, sharing its wealth of experiences.

With its current executive leadership, FCN is gaining credibility and stature in the health systems and governmental arenas. FCN has the capacity to influence negotiations in determining priorities for resource allocations.
